Colourwork Knitting

Colourwork Knitting
Date: Sunday 22nd June
Time: 10am - 12:30pm
Tutor: Susan Boucher
Colourwork knitting, also known as stranded knitting or Fair Isle knitting, is a technique where multiple colours of yarn are used in a single row or round to create a pattern. It’s a popular method for creating intricate designs with vibrant colour combinations.
You will learn how to manage your floats when you change colours, to avoid bunching on the right side of your work. Also how to interpret charts and techniques for stranded knitting to help you manage the multiple colours as you go.
Susan will take you through all the steps to help you confidently create your first colourwork project.
We recommend the hat pattern in the photograph as a great beginners starting point, but if you have your own project you can certainly use this in the class.
Requirement list:
Beanie Pattern - you can purchase this via the link here or let me know if you would like me to purchase it for you and the yarn required for this project is available in the pattern.
