Bring along your favourite bits and pieces to add to the kits, which will be available for sale on the day. You may have old table napkins, handkerchiefs, doilies, pretty fabrics, embroideries, anything that appeals to your sense of nostalgia, that reminds you of your granny!
You will need to bring:
All your usual ‘tools of the trade’, scissors, needles, pins, etc.
Threads you like to use, and needles to suit your threads.
Also some finer threads for stitching down lace and adding attachments. Perle’ #8 and stranded embrodiery thread work well.
You might like some tiny buttons or beads.
Some sort of plain cotton fabric to build your work on to, calico or old sheets.
You might like to use a very thin quilt batting or flannelette-type stuff in between the layers. That adds a softness to the work.
